Homemade Lemonade Popsicles with Lavender
Treat yourself (and your tastebuds!) to a classic summer favorite with a lavender twist. When you taste the tang of lemonade infused with the smooth, fragrant flavor of lavender, you’ll instantly be transported to a tranquil atmosphere, undisturbed by the stress of everyday life. This kid-friendly summer side recipe is sure to bring a smile to everyone’s face and is perfect for a summer cookout.
YOU’LL NEED:
• Popsicle sticks
• Popsicle mold or disposable paper cups
LAVENDER LEMONADE POPSICLES INGREDIENTS:
• 1/2 cup white sugar
• 3 Tbsp of dried lavender flowers
• 1 cup hot water
• 4 cup cold water
• 1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (4 - 5 lemons)
• 2 - 3 drops of purple food coloring (optional)
Servings vary, depending on container
LAVENDER LEMONADE POPSICLES INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Create lavender simple syrup by heating the sugar, dried lavender flowers and 1 cup water on medium heat and whisk occasionally until sugar is just dissolved.
2. Allow simple syrup mixture to cool to room temperature.
3. In a pitcher, combine the lavender simple syrup mixture with the cold water, fresh-squeezed lemon juice and food coloring. Add in one drop of food coloring at a time—adding more until the desired lavender color is reached. Stir to mix and pour into popsicle molds.
4. Freeze for at least 12 hours or ideally overnight.
